Santarém: A cidade e os jovens

Abstract

Atualmente Santarém não tem dinâmicas culturais que impulsionem e dinamizem a maior parte da população jovem. Com base na relevância da exposição “Santarém – A Cidade e os Homens” decorrida na década de 60 do século XX, e remetendo para o desafio lançado pelo Ano Europeu do Património Cultural (2018), que pretende colocar o Património Cultural na vida dos jovens, desenvolveu-se este projeto. O foco deste estudo é assim os jovens e o património do CH de Santarém. Um primeiro objetivo é conhecer a opinião dos jovens que se movimentam no espaço do Centro Histórico de Santarém, para assim delinear ideias que possam contribuir para o desenvolvimento de uma apropriação dos valores patrimoniais da cidade por parte dos jovens que a ocupam. Desta forma acredita-se contribuir para a valorização do património da cidade. Para este estudo desenvolveu-se uma metodologia que teve a aplicação de um questionário, um dos seus instrumentos mais relevantes. Reconhecendo que os jovens são os homens e as mulheres de Amanhã, e que serão os principais utilizadores do espaço de maior valor histórico e patrimonial, o Centro Histórico, que lhes foi deixado como herança, assim, poderá começar Hoje a missão ao incentivar novos interesses segundo os ideais dos jovens para eles mesmos e, deste modo, valorizar o seu Património para que perdure por mais gerações.

Currently Santarém has no cultural dynamics to boost and dynamize a the biggest part of the cities’ youth. This project was developed based in the relevance of the exhibition “Santarém – The City and Men”, held in the 1970’s and taking into account the challenges proposed by the European Year of Cultural Heritage (2018), to place Cultural Heritage in the hearth of the young. The focus of this study is, therefore, young people and Cultural Heritage of the city of Santarém. The primary goal was to assess the opinion of young users of heritage, in order to establish ideas that can contribute to the development of an appropriation of the heritage values of the city by the young people who occupy it. Therefore it is a contribution to the valorisation of that same heritage. The chosen methodology used a survey by questionnaire instrument that was as major feature of methods. Land surveys and interviews were also applied. This project recognizes that young people are men and women from tomorrow who will be the main users of the Historic Center, which has been left to them as a heritage, can thus begin the mission today by encouraging new interests according to the ideals of young people for themselves and thus valuing their Heritage so that it lasts for more generations.
