Intervenção cultural no Bairro da Zona J

Abstract

Nesta dissertação de Mestrado procurou-se perceber de que forma o bairro da Zona J tem evoluindo cultural e artisticamente, através das intervenções que tem sofrido nos últimos anos. Este estudo foca-se, não só no desenvolvimento artístico e cultural do bairro, mas também no papel da arte enquanto instrumento de integração e inclusão social. A metodologia de investigação utilizada é mista, recorrendo à abordagem qualitativa com base em técnicas de análise documental, observação participante e entrevista, e à abordagem quantitativa, através de inquéritos por questionário presencial. O objeto de estudo do trabalho é o bairro da Zona J, em Lisboa, e o enfoque centra-se no desenvolvimento do seu carácter cultural e artístico. De acordo com o estudo do bairro e com os dados analisados, conclui-se que houve uma evolução positiva no crescimento e desenvolvimento do bairro a vários níveis (cultural, artístico e educacional, por exemplo) no que diz respeito à oferta de eventos e organizações ativas e no cruzamento intersectorial de atividades. Em específico, o bairro da Zona J revela-se transformado na sua oferta cultural, existindo um crescente interesse por parte da população e de não residentes no bairro em frequentar e conhecer os projetos residentes. Comprova-se, assim, que a arte tem grande importância e alimenta oportunidades concretas em relação ao desenvolvimento local e social de um território específico.

In this Master's dissertation we tried to understand how the neighborhood of Zona J has evolved culturally and artistically, through the interventions it has undergone in recent years. This study focuses not only on the artistic and cultural development of the neighborhood, but also on the role of art as an instrument of integration and social inclusion. The research methodology used is mixed, using a qualitative approach based on techniques of documentary analysis, participatory observation and interview, and quantitative approach through questionnaire surveys. The object of study of the work is the neighborhood of Zona J, in Lisbon, and the focus is on the development of its cultural and artistic character. According to the study of the neighborhood and the data analyzed, it was concluded that there was a positive evolution in the growth and development of the neighborhood at various levels (cultural, artistic and educational, for example) regarding the provision of events and organizations and cross-sectoral intersection of activities. Specifically, the neighborhood of Zona J is transformed into its cultural offer, with a growing interest from the population and from non-residents in the neighborhood to frequent and get to know the resident projects. It is thus proved that art has great importance and nourishes concrete opportunities in relation to the local and social development of a specific territory.
