O leasing e a evolução da economia na União Europeia

Abstract

O leasing é um método de financiamento que pode ser dividido em leasing financeiro, leasing operacional e sale-and-leaseback. Apesar da sua importância ainda não existem muito estudos sobre este método de financiamento. Os objetivos deste estudo passam por identificar cada um dos diferentes tipos de leasing, analisar a sua evolução na Europa e uma contextualização histórica. Outro dos objetivos passa por perceber se existe uma relação entre a evolução da economia e a produção do leasing. Para chegar aos objetivos foi consultada a literatura existente e para a realização da análise estatística e testes também foi consultada a literatura necessária e retirados dados de diferentes fontes. De maneira a concluir a existência de relação entre o leasing e a economia foi utilizada uma amostra de 11 países da União Europeia. Através de diferentes testes estatísticos os resultados obtidos permitiram concluir que, nos países inseridos no estudo, existe uma relação positiva entre a produção do leasing e o crescimento da economia.

Leasing is a financing source that can be divided into financial leasing, operational leasing and sale-and-leaseback. Despite its importance, there is still not much research on this method of financing. The objectives of this study are to explain each type of leasing, analyze the evolution across different countries and present a historical context. Another objective is to understand the existence or not of a relationship between the evolution of the economy and the use of leasing. In order to reach these objectives, we present a review of the the existing literature and a statistical analysis is carried out. In order to conclude the existence of a relationship between leasing and the economy, a sample of 11 European Union countries was used. Through different statistical tests the results show that in the countries included in our study, there is a positive relationship between the leasing and the economic growth.
