Arquitetura e arte: reflexão crítica acerca da sua relação híbrida

Abstract

O tema “Arquitetura e as Artes” tem merecido atenção por parte de arquitetos e artistas desde o início do século XX. As vanguardas russas, onde surgem nomes como Vladimir Tatlin, El Lissitzky, espalham-se, por todo o mundo, influenciando artistas como Gordon Matta-Clark e Robert Smithson no final do século. Em Portugal, o curador Delfim Sardo tem transposto a ligação para o século XXI. A curadoria da exposição “Falemos de casas: Quando a arte fala arquitetura” em 2010 patente no Museu do Chiado, em Lisboa, permitiu ao curador escrever um texto designado “Da arte para a arquitetura para a arte” onde faz uma reflexão crítica sobre o tema. O texto foca em tópicos como a habitabilidade e espacialidade, fazendo na sua reflexão uma análise à obra da artista Fernanda Fragateiro que se preocupa com a ligação das suas obras com a arquitetura e possui trabalhos em colaboração com o arquiteto João Ventura Trindade. O trabalho teórico que se apresenta assenta na realização de três entrevistas a três diferentes personalidades. Nestas foram abordadas questões como: a definição de conceitos - espacialidade e habitabilidade; a colaboração na concepção de soluções arquitectónicas e artísticas; e as influências sofridas nos processos. As conclusões procuram contribuir para discussão sobre o tema através do cruzamento de três perspetivas. O curador Delfim Sardo oferece uma perspectiva histórica; a artista Fernanda Fragateiro oferece uma perspectiva artística; e o arquiteto João Ventura Trindade oferece uma perspectiva arquitectónica.

The theme “Architecture and the Arts” has received attention from architects and artists since the beginning of the 20th century. The russian vanguards, where names like Vladimir Tatlin, El Lissitzky, spread across the world, influencing artista like Gordon Matta-Clark and Robert Smithson at the turn of the century. In Portugal, the curator Delfim Sardo has transposed the connection to the 20th century. The curatorship of the exhibition “Let’s talk about houses: When art speaks architecture” in 2010 at the Museum of Chiado in Lisbon, allowed the curator to write a text entitled “From art to architecture to art” where he does a reflection on the subject. The text focus on points like habitability and spatiality, doing an analysis of the work of the artista Fernanda Fragateiro who is concerned with the connection of her works with architecture, and has works in collaboration with the architect João Ventura Trindade. The theoretical work presented is based on three interviews with three different personalities. These included issues such as: the definition of concepts - habitability and spatiality; collaboration in the design of architectural and artists solutions; and the influence suffered in the processes. The conclusions seek to contribute to the discussion of the theme by crossing three perspectives. The curator Delfim Sardo offers a historical perspective, the artista Fernanda Fragateiro offers an artistic perspective; and the arquitect João Ventura Trindade offers an architectural perspective.
