Mulheres ministras no Portugal democrático

Abstract

Esta dissertação centra-se no tema da participação política das portuguesas, mais concretamente na nomeação de mulheres para cargos ministeriais no nosso país. A igualdade de género é hoje um tema em debate, e não se pode menosprezar o papel dos governos portugueses neste fenómeno social. Torna-se importante na sociedade atual perceber porque o número de mulheres nos governos portugueses é ainda tão baixo quando comparado com a média europeia, para tal devemos recuar no tempo e observar a nossa sociedade de modo a perceber quais os fatores que têm mais influencia na nomeação de mulheres para pastas ministeriais. A minha dissertação analisa as legislaturas desde 1985 até 2011 de modo a ver a evolução do número de ministras nos governos, e perceber quais dos fatores sejam eles socioeconómicos, políticos ou culturais que têm mais influência na hora da escolha de mulheres para estes cargos.

This thesis focuses on theme of political representation of portuguese women, specifically in the appointment of women to ministerial positions in our country. Gender equality is now a discussion, and one can not overlook the role of the Portuguese government in this social phenomenon. It is important in today's society see why the number of women in the Portuguese government is still so low compared to the European average , for this we must go back in time and observe our society in order to understand what factors have more influence on appointment of women to ministerial portfolios . My thesis examines the legislatures from 1985 to 2011 in order to see the evolution of the number of ministers in government, and understand which factors of whether socioeconomic , political and cultural factors that have more influence when choosing women for these positions .
