Entre o mar e a terra - Costa da Caparica

Abstract

A costa da Caparica é uma cidade em constante mudança do que é o seu limite territorial. A Arriba Fóssil apresentava-se como alçado do território para o lado do mar. Com a formação da faixa litoral ao nível da água, o limite sofre uma mudança e um avanço, esta Arriba torna- se um segundo plano e, consequentemente este solo pantanoso torna-se propicio à vida da cidade, sendo a nova cidade. Constituindo-se agora a nova cidade como alçado, e a arriba como uma miragem em grande escala. A Costa da Caparica sofreu ao longo dos anos várias intervenções e construções, não deixando espaço para um completo planeamento, hoje é um território com uma estrutura urbana desordenada e insuficiente de infraestruturas que respondam às necessidades da população. Com a proposta de Investigação: Entre o Mar e a Terra, surge a vontade de planear e reestruturar esta cidade. A proposta foi dividida em três áreas de intervenção, Mar que se preocupa com o seu avanço e investiga as possibilidades da reposição das dunas, Cidade que quebra as barreiras existentes da cidade, Terra cria um novo limite (Avenida)entre a cidade e os Campos Agrícolas protegendo a arriba. Esta Avenida é o ponto de conexão entre os percursos pedonais existentes nos campos agrícolas, a arriba e a cidade. A proposta aqui apresentada passa pela continuação de um destes percursos, e que se pretende que suba ao topo da arriba Fóssil por uma linha de água existente, denominada de Descida do Cabedelo culminando num Centro de Investigação.

Costa da Caparica is relatively recent and has suffered over the years several interventions and constructions, leaving no room for complete planning, today is a territory with a disordered urban structure and insufficient infrastructure that responds to the needs of the population. With the research proposal: Between the Sea and the Earth, the desire to plan and restructure this city arises. The proposed Urban plan was divided into three areas of intervention, The Sea that cares about the advance of the sea and investigates the possibilities of the replacement of the dunes and their relationship with the city, The City that breaks down the existing barriers of the city, the Earth creates a new boundary (Avenue) and interrupts the advance of the city to the Agricultural Fields protecting the cliff. This Avenue, is the point of connection between the existing pedestrian routes in the agricultural fields,the cliff and the city. The proposal presented here involves the continuation of one of these routes that crosses the agricultural fields and that it is intended to rise to the top of the Fossil cliff by an existing water line called the Descent of Cabedelo that culminates in a Center for Research and Museological Space.
