Una mirada en perspectiva al universo “Lisboa Cidade Triste e Alegre” 1959, de Victor Palla y Costa Martins.

Abstract

Existen algunos casos donde se significan erróneamente acontecimientos históricos, y en ocasiones estos significados son consolidados especialmente por la cantidad de individuos que creen en ellos. Esto es especialmente importante para este trabajo, entendiendo que el libro “Lisboa Cidade Triste e Alegre” (1959) de Victor Palla y Costa Martins a los días de hoy esta investido de una cierta aura de discurso contra régimen. Esta concepción, aunque no se encuentra representada en los hechos o fuentes, es generalizada cuando al hablar del libro se trata, ideas que comparten una estrecha relación con el concepto de postverdad, donde una idea se entiende como consolidada solo por su estatus y no por las evidencias. Este trabajo trata de percibir el por qué de la consolidación de estas ideas, además de entender qué significa el libro “Lisboa Cidade Triste e Alegre” principalmente a través de su fotografía, presentando una lectura del universo cercano de Palla y Martins, donde se observen los elementos que influenciaron a ellos y al libro, elementos tales como el contexto político de la época, los poderes que enfrentaron, o la coyuntura histórica. Referente a la fotografía, en este trabajo se hace un análisis de esta para comprender el estilo de fotografiar de los autores y el mensaje oculto en ellas, para de este modo comprender el tipo de discurso concreto que estas contienen.

There are some cases when historical events are wrongly denoted and become significantly consolidated by the number of people that believe in them. This is specially important to this work, as still nowadays it is considered that the book “Lisboa Cidade Triste e Alegre” (in english: “Lisbon happy and sad city”) (1959) by Victor Palla and Costa Martins has an aura of an anti regime discourse. This idea, even tough if it is not represented by means of facts or sources, is generalized when talking about the book, allowing a close relationship with the concept of post-truth when an idea is understood as consolidated only by its status and not by its evidence. The present work tries to understand the reason beneath the consolidation of this idea, as well as to understand what does the book means, through its photograph, representing the universe of Palla and Martins and the elements that influenced them and the book, such as the political context of the era, the historical conjuncture and battle of forces. Regarding photography, an analysis is performed to understand the style of the authors and the occult significances in order to perceive the exact type of discoursing the book contains.
