Estratégias educativas: o caso das famílias de crianças sobredotadas

Abstract

As crianças sobredotadas são muitas vezes “mal compreendidas” entre as várias instâncias que rodeiam o seu dia-a-dia. Já muito de falou sobre as características cognitivas destas crianças, e já muito se falou da palavra “génio” ou “prodígio”. Este trabalho tem como objectivo apresentar as estratégias educativas dos pais de crianças sobredotadas. São abordados os conceitos de socialização e de estratégia educativa, sendo as condições materiais de existência fundamentais para se perceber as práticas inerentes às estratégias educativas destes pais – para uma “boa socialização”. Aqui, falamos da importância do lugar social da criança, dos valores transmitidos pelos pais, as suas estratégias pedagógicas e a relação da família e da criança com os outros agentes de socialização, como a escola, a televisão, os pares de amigos e a associação de apoio.

Gifted Children are often “misunderstood” in their daily life. A lot of things have been written about the cognitive features of this children; a lot have been written about the words of “genius” and “prodigy”. The goal of this work is to present the educative strategies of gifted child parents. It is mentioned the concepts of socialization and educative strategies, being the material conditions of living a fundamental concept to understand the practices inherent to educative strategies of this parents – for a “good socialization”. Here, we speak about the social place of the children, about the values that parent pretend to transmit to their kids, theirs pedagogical strategies and the relationship of the family and the children’s with other socialization agents, as school, television, friends and the association A.N.E.I.S.
