Investimento em arte: uma análise financeira

Abstract

O desenvolvimento, sem precedentes, do mercado da arte durante os últimos anos está a resultar na sua "financialização". Atualmente a arte é vista para além do seu valor artístico ou importância histórica. O seu retorno monetário tem vindo a agitar o mercado. Esta dissertação é um estudo da questão da obra de arte como ativo alternativo de investimento a partir de uma análise de conceitos básicos de investimento tendo em conta as especificidades do mercado da arte, e concluindo com a apresentação de exemplos de instrumentos financeiros que utilizam a obra de arte como ativo. Tentando apontar as similitudes e diferenças entre a arte e outros ativos do mercado financeiro, pesando a ainda tácita relação entre mercados, este trabalho visa descortinar as principais problemáticas e perspetivas da obra de arte como "commodity".

The unprecedented development of the art market in recent years is resulting in its financialization. Today art is seen beyond its artistic value or historical importance. The monetary return has been arousing the market. This dissertation is a study on the question of the work of art as an alternative investment asset stem from an analysis of basic investment concepts considering the specificities of the art market and concluding with the presentation of examples of financial instruments that have been using the work of art as active. Seeking to indicate the similarities and differences between art and other financial assets, even though the relationship between markets is still tacit, this work aims to unveil the main issues and perspectives of the work of art as a commodity.
