Intervenção no Segundo Torrão

Abstract

Este trabalho é um convite a viajar por um mundo particular, com fortes memórias, na margem sul do rio Tejo, no encontro entre este e o Atlântico. O Segundo Torrão é esse lugar. Combinando uma relação ecológica entre cultura, identidade e natureza, o Segundo Torrão, um bairro multicultural de 75 anos, está a tentar resistir em circunstâncias difíceis que implicam o dia-a-dia de aproximadamente três mil pessoas que reclamam por condições de vida apropriadas. Eles existem entre rio, praia e pinheiros. Mas também dentro de um muro. Deveriam eles saber como seria viver além do limite?

This work is an invitation to travel a particular world, with strong memories, in the south side of Tagus River, where Atlantic Ocean and Tagus meet. Segundo Torrão is that place. Combining an ecological relation between culture, identity and nature, Segundo Torrão, a 75 years old and multi-ethnic neighborhood, is trying to resist in hard circumstances that imply a nowadays life of three thousand people claiming proper living conditions. Is an ilegal neighborhood located in a private property. They exist between river, beach and pine trees. But they also exist inside a wall. Should they know how could it be to live beyond this boundary?
