After the COVID-19 pandemic, people started to buy impulsively in order to cope with negative feelings, resulted from the social distancing, and uncertainty of the future. However, most consumers also started to invest on the practice of activities related to Mindfulness, such as yoga or meditation, bringing rationality and consciousness to the present moment, which may affect this type of buying behavior. In this study, the main goal stands by the examination of the relationship between Mindfulness and Impulsive Buying Behavior. Moreover, it is still analyzed the effect that self-esteem and self-acceptance, psychological factors, present within this relationship. In fact, the obtained results demonstrated that there is a negative relationship between Mindfulness and Impulsive buying behavior. However, this relationship did not seem to be direct, but solely through the mediation of the mediating variables altogether. This way, there is a problem, since companies trust impulsive purchases as a behavior that makes up more than half of their revenues, and customers are more and more searching for solutions that make them more conscious, and less impulsive, being important to analyze these tendencies, and their real impact, as a way to identify solutions for companies to overcome this complication. The present study utilized both quantitative and qualitative methods, through the elaboration of a questionnaire and an interview with Professor António Costa, an expert in the field of Mindfulness, that served as an assistant in the discussion of the questionnaire results. A descriptive analysis of the data was performed using SPSS, and the hypotheses were tested through Smart PLS.
