This Dissertation discusses the implementation of quality management and humanity in IPSS. Due to the fact that population aging is a growing phenomenon in Portugal, it is increasingly necessary to create services that ensure quality in the care provided to clients. Thus, this study aims to understand how the articulation between quality management and humanity promote a positive impact on the quality of services provided in IPSS. In order to achieve the research objective, personal interviews with the ombudsman, technical directors, psychologist and quality manager are carried out with the purpose of analyzing the extent to which QMS limits or enhances approaches to intervention according to humanitude principles, and to understand to what extent the union between quality management and humanity promote a positive impact on the quality of the services provided in IPSS. The interview with the institutionalized clients served to understand and analyze the degree of customer satisfaction with the institution. Questionnaires were also applied to the institution's employees, so as to be able to retain their opinion on the implementation of a QMS in the institution and in what way this power or limits approaches to the principles of Humanity. The results indicated that the implementation of the QMS leaves positive marks in the analyzed institution, since there is an improvement in the management of resources, an increase in the satisfaction and motivation of the collaborators, search to organize, document and demonstrate all the work that is done in the care and in all institutional dynamics, there is also an improvement in the image and practices of organization. However, it was verified that a QMS is not enough by itself to reach clients, hence the institution bet on the implementation of the methodology in humanitude, this is simply the contribution of all men to each man, is the human contribution to the universe. In this way, the joint implementation of the QMS and Humanity is undoubtedly an added value for the institution and improves the quality of life of the clients. |
