Tem crescido e aparecido… Breve incursão pela emergência da sociologia da infância em Portugal

Abstract

Este paper surge na sequência do trabalho elaborado em 2006 para a avaliação na unidade curricular de Investigação Sociológica em Portugal, do programa de doutoramento em Sociologia. Se à época considerámos pertinente percorrer os meandros da sociologia da infância em Portugal, hoje, decorridos estes anos, apercebemo-nos de que foi essencial aquele começo, dado que passou de mero interesse pessoal a interesse académico e profissional. Que instituições e investigadores foram pioneiros no campo em Portugal, quais os protagonistas, que temas trataram e com que metodologias, foram perguntas que nos assaltaram na altura, durante a pesquisa. Assim, este working paper apresenta-se dividido em três pontos: instituições e equipas; temas predominantes; e metodologias.

This working paper emerges following the work completed in 2006 for evaluation in the course module of Sociological Research in Portugal, part of the doctoral program in Sociology. If considered pertinent at the time to go through the intricacies of the sociology of childhood in our country, today, after these years, I have presently come to realize how essential that initial stage was as it evolved from a mere personal interest into an academic and professional pursuit. Which institutions and researchers have been pioneers in the field in Portugal? Who were the leading figures? What topics were dealt with and what methodologies were used? Thus, this working paper has been divided into three sections: institutions and teams; predominant topics; and methodologies.
