Introdução

Abstract

Esta colectânea de textos resultou da conferência internacional «Empresários e Empreendorismo em África: experiências, reflexões e perspectivas», organizada pelo Centro de Estudos Africanos do ISCTE. Como tal, inclui textos de investigadores e apresentações feitas por empresários nesta reunião. Para além de serem abordados assuntos diversos respeitantes ao tema – desenvolvimento, economia informal, crédito, gestão ou novas tecnologias –, inclui ainda um conjunto de textos resultantes de pesquisas realizadas noutros contextos empresariais – como a China ou o Brasil. Entre as análises respeitantes ao continente africano, apresentam ‑se estudos realizados num número diversificado e amplo de países, para além de Angola e Moçambique, países sobre os quais se centra o projecto de investigação que motivou esta conferência.

This collection of texts results from the international conference «Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurship in Africa: experiences, reflections, and perspectives», promoted by the Centre for African Studies of ISCTE. As such, it includes texts of researchers and presentations made by entrepreneurs in this meeting. Besides including diverse subjects related to the main theme – development, informal economy, credit, management, or new technologies – it also contains a set of texts resulting from the research carried out in other entrepreneurial contexts, like China or Brazil. Among the analyses concerning the African continent, it presents studies conducted in a diversified and vast number of countries, besides Angola and Mozambique on which the project that motivated this conference is focused on.
