Barreiro em comunidade: Uma proposta de regeneração urbana através da economia circular

Abstract

O projeto final de arquitetura (PFA) insere-se no LabTUR- Laboratório de Ensaio de Metodologias de Intervenção na Cidade Existente e articula o espaço da cidade lúdica e comunitária com o conceito da economia circular. Nas últimas décadas, as alterações climáticas e mudança para novos hábitos urbanos, desafiam os arquitetos a pensar e desenhar a cidade segundo novos paradigmas. Neste caso, aborda-se a regeneração urbana da cidade do Barreiro através da economia circular e das relações humanas geradas em comunidade. O Barreiro pós-industrial é o ponto de partida para a intervenção. A desativação dos terrenos da antiga CUF – Companha União Fabril e Quimigal, foi um fator influenciador para a decadência destes terrenos, mas a proposta da terceira travessia do Tejo desencadeou um interesse em reconectar o Barreiro com os territórios envolventes e voltar a ser um local dinâmico.

The final architectural project (PFA) is part of the LabTUR - Laboratory for Testing Intervention and Methodologies in the Existing City, and articulates the space of the ludic and community city with the concept of circular economy. In recent decades, with climate change and the alteration to new urban habits, it defied architects to think and design the city according to new paradigms. In this case, the urban regeneration of the city of Barreiro is approached through the circular economy and the human relationships generated in the community. The post-industrial city of Barreiro, is the starting point for intervention. The deactivation of the land belonging to the former CUF - União Fabril and Quimigal Company was an influencing factor for the decay of these lands, but the proposal for the third crossing of Tejo raised an interest in reconnecting Barreiro with the surrounding territories and becoming a dynamic place again.
