gerando maiores lucros e retornos.
The investment in human capital and the importance that it can have in the business process, as well as the inequalities it can generate have been object of discussion among authors. Human capital corresponds to an investment made by each person, being a set of skills acquired by individuals in terms of education, from their training programs and professional experience, which lead to greater efficiency by those individuals in their work. The investment in a worker's education boosts greater productivity, according to his superior level of knowledge and skills, generating greater profits and returns. Therefore, there is stronger evidence that this factor assumes importance in the level of the individuals income. A number of questions are then raised about which relationship can be created between the investment in human capital and the reduction of the existing inequalities in income levels. The following dissertation studies in which measure can human capital contribute to the level of inequality over time between OECD countries, with the aim of verifying the behavior of these countries in terms of education, in order to understand what result this indicator generates at the level of wage distribution among individuals. For this purpose, an econometric model was estimated that is based on the choice of panel data for the study and analysis of the relationship between investment in human capital and inequalities for this group of 33 countries selected in the period between 2000 and 2014. The results indicate that this relationship is negative, which means that an increase in human capital tends to reduce the level of inequality between the income distribution of individuals of a certain country |
