Entre o programa e a forma

Abstract

O tema do trabalho reflecte sobre o projecto de arquitectura, centrando-se no programa arquitectónico e como este se insere no exercício da prática de arquitectura. Esta reflexão não pretende limitar-se a uma leitura linear entre a funcionalidade e a forma final de um projecto arquitectónico. As questões funcionais de um edifício não são encaradas como geradoras de projecto, mas enquanto um dos dados informadores do programa. Atenta, porém, na interpretação do programa até à formalização do projecto. O resultado do processo de transformação do programa resulta em matéria projectual, denominado de programa arquitectónico. Considera-se que a função não é um elemento absolutamente determinante à forma de um edifício. Importa ao trabalho compreender o quadro programático, influenciado por factores culturais, sociais, económicos, entre outros, que se envolvem na formalização do programa. A materialização formal de um projecto tem inerente diversos pressupostos a serem interpretados pelo autor, pelo que se considera legítimo múltiplas possibilidades de resposta a um programa. A reflexão teórica sobre a transformação do programa arquitectónico é analisada em três propostas do concurso do Centro Cultural de Belém. Enquadradas no mesmo contexto cultural, temporal, geográfico e perante o mesmo programa, analisa-se as diferentes respostas da fase final do concurso. Considera-se determinante o desempenho do arquitecto no desenvolvimento da acção de projecto.

The theme of the work reflects about architectural project, focusing on the architectural program and how it is part of the practice of architecture. This reflection is not limited to a linear reading between the functionality and the final form of an architectural project. The functional issues of a building are not considered as project generators, but as one of the data informants of the program. Emphasizing, however, in the interpretation of the program until the project is formed. The result of the transformation process of the program results in a project matter, known as an architectural program. It is considered that the function is not an absolutely determining element to the form of a building. It is important for the work to understand the programmatic framework, influenced by cultural, social, economic factors, among others, that are involved in the formalization of the program. The formal materialization of a project has inherent several assumptions to be interpreted by the author, so it is considered legitimate multiple possibilities of response to a program. The theoretical reflection on the transformation of the architectural program is analysed in three proposals of the Centro Cultural de Belém contest. Within the same cultural, temporal and geographical context and before the same program, the different responses of the final phase of the competition are analysed. The architecfs performance in the development of the project action is decisive.
