Literacia dos novos media : os seniores e o acesso ao Portal Online das Finanças em Portugal

Abstract

A presente investigação tem como objetivo fazer uma análise aprofundada sobre as dificuldades que os seniores portugueses podem sentir ao aceder ao Portal Online das Finanças em Portugal. Para esta análise foram tidos em conta fatores como a adaptação das gerações mais velhas às Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação, os processos de aquisição de competências, a inclusão social e, por fim, a inclusão digital como um vetor do processo de cidadania. Procurou-se também apurar a natureza das dificuldades que os seniores sentem, tanto da perspetiva dos contribuintes seniores, como da perspetiva da organização e disposição da informação a nível do website do Portal das Finanças em Portugal. Para esta investigação foram entrevistados 16 seniores, 8 mulheres e 8 homens, nas faixas etárias entre os 55 e os 80 anos, com o objetivo de compreender as causas do problema em estudo e demonstrar que a inclusão e emancipação dos seniores neste tipo de tarefas e obrigações cívicas cada vez mais estão informatizadas, podem ser benéficas para o aumento dos níveis de literacia digital e para o processo de construção e afirmação da cidadania.

This research aims to make an in-depth analysis on the difficulties that portuguese seniors can feel when accessing the Online Finance Portal in Portugal. For this analysis, factors such as the adaptation of the older generations to Information and Communication Technologies, the processes of acquisition of competences, social inclusion and, finally, digital inclusion as a vector of the citizenship process were taken into account. It was also sought to ascertain the nature of the difficulties that seniors feel, both from the perspective of senior taxpayers, and from the perspective of the organization and provision of information at the website of the Finance Portal in Portugal. For this research, 16 seniors, 8 women and 8 men were interviewed in the age groups between 55 and 80 years old, in order to understand the causes of the problem under study and to demonstrate that the inclusion and emancipation of the seniors in this type of tasks, which are increasingly computerized, can be beneficial for increasing levels of digital literacy and for the process of building and affirming citizenship
