Avaliaçao de subsídios e suporte social a pessoas com deficiência: estudo de caso: paralisia cerebral-dependentes

Abstract

Tendo como premissa a necessidade de avaliação dos subsídios e suporte social a pessoas com deficiência, esta dissertação de mestrado visa conhecer e compreender a problemática que envolve as famílias com dependentes com Paralisia Cerebral, analisar a envolvente emocional e quais os subsídios e/ou apoios sociais que têm acesso. A Paralisia Cerebral consiste numa perturbação do controlo da postura e movimento que resulta de uma lesão ou anomalia cerebral que atinge o cérebro em período de desenvolvimento. Consoante a localização das lesões e áreas do cérebro afetadas, as manifestações são diferentes e, por conseguinte, também o grau de incapacidade. A metodologia adotada baseou-se numa abordagem mista de cariz qualitativo e quantitativo. Como técnica de recolha de dados utilizou-se o inquérito por questionário concebido especialmente para o efeito. Dos resultados obtidos, foi rapidamente percetível as dificuldades sentidas por parte dos cuidadores no seu dia-a-dia ao nível emocional, de mobilidade e consequentemente social. Conseguindo ainda entender pelo índice económico, a não satisfação e carência de segurança monetária por parte do agregado, no que se refere aos gastos e custos inerentes ao dependente. Os resultados alertam-nos para uma necessidade de intervenção emergente. A reformulação das ajudas ao nível económico e social torna-se urgente para proporcionar bem-estar e qualidade de vida a estas pessoas, quer sejam cuidadores ou dependentes.

Based on the premise of the need for evaluation of social support and support for people with disabilities, this Master's thesis aims to understand and understand the problem involving families with dependents with Cerebral Palsy, analyze the emotional environment and what social subsidies and / or supports who have access. Cerebral Palsy consists of a disturbance in the control of posture and movement resulting from a brain injury or anomaly that strikes the developing brain. Depending on the location of the affected lesions and brain areas, the manifestations are different and therefore also the degree of disability. The methodology adopted its based on a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative nature. As a data collection technique, a specially designed questionnaire survey was used. From the results obtained, the difficulties experienced by the caregivers in their daily lives at an emotional, mobility and consequently social level were quickly perceptible. Also, being able to understand by the economic index, the satisfaction and lack of monetary security on the part of the household, with regard to the expenses and costs inherent to their dependent. The results alert us to a need for emerging intervention. The reformulation of economic and social aid becomes urgent to provide well-being and quality of life to these people, whether they are caregivers or dependents.
