A proliferação de universidades e seu impacto na qualidade do ensino superior: estudo exploratório com duas universidades moçambicanas

Abstract

A qualidade do Ensino Superior, tem sido no geral uma preocupação não só para os futuros estudantes, como também para outros stakeholders. Na atualidade, e devido à existência de uma população mais informada e mais exigente, a preocupação é ainda maior no que diz respeito à qualidade de ensino, à qualidade do nível académico dos docentes, bem como à experiência adquirida no que se refere ao ensino e aprendizagem e à própria vocação do docente para o ensino. Verifica-se que nos dias de hoje, poucas pessoas estão preparadas para a grande tarefa que é a transmissão dos seus conhecimentos para os que dele necessitam para a realização das suas funções que é essencialmente ensinar. Nos países em vias de desenvolvimento ou mais pobres, esta problemática assume maiores proporções porque os governos estão mais interessados na quantidade e não na qualidade dos indivíduos a serem formados. Com este trabalho, pretende-se identificar de que forma, a Proliferação de Universidades em Moçambique influencia a Qualidade do Ensino Superior e buscar soluções para minimizar o impacto do atual estado relativamente à qualidade desse mesmo ensino. Mas para o efeito, foi conduzida uma investigação utilizando a metodologia exploratória, baseada em questionários para que se possa obter o grau de perceção das partes envolvidas na área da educação do ensino superior. Este trabalho foi também suportado por leitura bibliográfica para melhor compreensão do problema em estudo.

The quality of higher education has been a concern not only for future students, but also for other stakeholders. At present, and due to the existence of a more informed and more demanding population, the concern is even greater with regard to the quality of teaching, the quality of the academic level of teachers, and the experience gained in teaching and learning and the teacher's own vocation for teaching. It turns out that in these days few people are prepared for the great task, which is the transmission of their knowledge to those who need it for the accomplishment of their functions, which is essentially to teach. In developing or poorer countries, this problem takes on greater proportions because governments are more interested in the quantity and not in the quality of the individuals to be trained. This work intends to identify how the Proliferation of Universities in Mozambique influences the Quality of Higher Education and seek solutions to minimize the impact of the current state on the quality of this same teaching. But for this purpose, an investigation was conducted within the framework using the exploratory methodology, based on questionnaire in order to obtain the degree of perception of the parties involved in the area of higher education. This work was also supported by a bibliographical reading to better understand the problem under study
