Resumo: O tema da feminização das migrações tem sido construído a partir de diferentes olhares e dimensões neste século XXI. Este livro aprofunda aspectos relativos às questões de gênero, sexualização, preconceitos, identidades, subjetividades, redes migratórias, associativismo, moradia, empreendedorismo, família, trabalho, raça, casamentos, nacionalidades e os espaços onde se processam as migrações transnacionais. Um fio condutor entre os estudos que compõem esta obra está pautado na visibilidade da presença de mulheres nos processos migratórios. A visibilidade entendida como agência traz novas interpretações ao fenômeno migratório e aponta para as diferenças entre os percursos e projetos migratórios para mulheres e homens. Reconhecer a presença de mulheres nas migrações imprime a construção da visibilidade social, caminho para a desconstrução de estigmas, discriminação e preconceitos. De fato, Norbert Elias nos faz refletir sobre a naturalização da ação invisibilisadora, a partir da qual o estigma cria estereótipos, reforçando-se na violência simbólica e na relação entre a invisibilidade social e a construção da identidade dos sujeitos. Entender o estigma, segundo Goffman, como uma linguagem de relações implica considerar que a percepção de si está relacionada ao julgamento do grupo em que se convive. Assim, com o olhar conceitual para a visibilidade social da migração de mulheres, minha leitura dos capítulos deste livro remete considerar a representação social de mulheres imigrantes nos variados contextos contemplados nos estudos, como Portugal, Itália, República Dominicana, espaços de fronteiras Argentina-Paraguai de Posadas (Misiones, República Argentina) e Encarnación (Itapúa, República do Paraguai), Espanha, Argentina, Estados Unidos, Alemanha, Londres e Brasil. Nesse sentido, esta obra torna-se referência obrigatória para se avançar na compreensão dos processos migratórios de mulheres no mundo contemporâneo.
