A História de Luta de Maria Henriqueta Miguel Pedro na FNLA, Frente Nacional de Libertação de Angola

Abstract

O artigo debruça-se sobre a história de vida da ex-combatente da FNLA, Maria Henriqueta Miguel Pedro, Joia. Joia foge aos estereótipos sobre a FNLA. De origem kimbundu, filha de pais assimilados, nasceu em Luanda e foi estudante liceal. A sua biografia contribui para pensarmos a FNLA para além da História Única, ou seja, um movimento nacionalista de homens da etnia bakongo, com origem no norte de Angola, refugiados no país vizinho Congo, de religião batista e com raízes camponesas. O artigo defende que as ex-combatentes e a militância clandestina devem ser incluídas na memória e história da luta de libertação da FNLA para que essa luta seja ressignificada e a pertença à nação não seja excludente das mulheres.

This article focuses on the life story of the former FNLA fighter, Maria Henriqueta Miguel Pedro, Joia. Joia escapes stereotypes about the FNLA. Of Kimbundu origin, daughter of assimilated parents, she was born in Luanda and was a high school student. Her biography contributes to think about the FNLA beyond the Single History, that is, a nationalist movement of men of Bakongo ethnic group, with origin in the north of Angola, refugees in the neighboring country Congo, of Baptist religion and with peasant roots. The article argues that ex-combatants and clandestine militancy should be included in the FNLA’s memory and history of the liberation struggle so that this fight is re-signified and belonging to the nation does not exclude women.
